john 3:16

isaiah got to go back to school today after being gone for 2 weeks because of sickness. he was very hesitant this morning to go. but one look at his teacher and he decided that he'd go back. (she's fantastic by the way).

at lunch today i said, 'okay let's pray.' and began to pray. when we were finished isaiah said, 'john 3 :16, 'For God so loved the world that he gave his ONLY son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.'

i sat there stunned. i'm ashamed to say that i've never tried to teach him that...never thought he could memorize something. but there he was, reciting the verse to me.

after asking him where in the world he learned that he said at school they pray before they have a snack and then recite john 3:16...

Get it on video right away because there's nothing more precious than their little voices reciting scripture!!! I was astonished that after doing Bud's blessings for about a year, J popped out with the entire passage of the armor of God. Their memories are better than ours!

That's awesome! I didn't think about teaching Max to memorize scripture either..weird, one of the most important things in our lives... But this morning he did sing, "Your beautiful, it's true" - you know that super annoying song?

Isn't it great how God brings important people into our kids lives that He uses to impact them for Him and help to fill in the gaps, since we just can't do everything. (try as we might!) I know that has been so true in my life and I have some wonderful men (Mike Phay, for one) that I am deeply grateful to for their Godly influence in Jamey's life. God is good!
